The City of Elk River’s Communications Division received three awards from the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators (MAGC).
The Elk River Communications Team received one Silver Award and two Northern Lights Awards during the organization’s annual awards ceremony, which recognizes excellence in government communications.
The awards included:
Silver Award: 2025 Elk River Parks and Recreation Summer Program Guide
Northern Lights Award: Elk River Fire Station 1 video
Northern Lights Award: Elk RiverFest website
The MAGC awards recognize government communication work in categories including creative achievement, publications, video, plans and projects, engagement and web design.
The Elk River City Council recognized and congratulated the Communications Team on the awards during its Aug. 17 meeting.
Council Member Jennifer Wagner told communications team members in attendance that they do a great job and called the awards well-earned and well-deserved.
“Thank you for being the voice of the city,” Wagner said.
Council Member Mike Beyer said the team not only does a good job communicating positive news, but also does a good job framing difficult news.
Council Member J. Brian Calva said, “I think you reflect us really well, and I appreciate that.”
