Travel Advisor

Job description
Fast-paced full service travel agency (35+ years in business) looking for a Travel Advisor with great enthusiasm for traveling. You will research, plan, and book travel arrangements for clients. Excellent customer service skills are a must.

Work hours are Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We are a locally owned small business in downtown Elk River and we are looking for the right person to be a part of our customer service team. This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities
- Analyze client requests to meet specifications and wishes, suggest suitable
travel packages or services.
- Research various destinations and means of travel for clients in regards to
destination and pricing, international travel requirements, accommodations,
car rental/transportation, tours, etc.
- Organize client's travel from beginning to end using multiple vendors to
complete all components of a full travel package
- Accounting skills, collect and apply payments
- Handle unforeseen travel issues and complaints
- Attend travel conferences and in-destination events to maintain familiarity
with tourism trends
Requirements
- Work experience as a travel consultant strongly preferred, but willing to
train individuals with extensive personal travel experience (including cruises
and international travel)
- Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational
skills
- Knowledge of computers and ability to navigate between multiple systems
and web browsers
- Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international,
group/individual)
- Extensive personal travel experience strongly preferred

- Ability to present and communicate effectively in person, on the telephone
and through email
- Must be self-motivated and eager to learn
- Must have the ability to handle crises
- Must be a team player and willing to help out
- Must have an outstanding personality, and ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO TRAVEL!

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
