Description

Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB) is an evidence-based falls prevention program, designed by Fuzhong Li, Ph.D., at the Oregon Research Institute, to keep older adults mobile and independent. TJQMBB represents an enhancement of traditional Tai Ji Quan aimed at improving postural stability, awareness and mindful control of body positioning, functional walking, and range of motion around the ankle and hip joints. Each session consists of warm-up exercises, a mix of core forms, and brief cool-down exercises. The class is particularly suited for adults who can walk and have an interest in improving balance, flexibility, and strength.
