Description

This play chronicles the tragic and inspiring true story of a group of young women in the 1920s and 30s sometimes referred to as the Radium Girls. They land well-paying jobs painting glow-in-the-dark watch and clock faces at the Radium Dial Company in central Illinois. Over the next decade, the radium-infused paint slowly poisons the women leading to an array of debilitating health issues. The ensuing legal battle exposes the dishonesty and callousness of the profit-seekers, and the spirit and fortitude of these strong women. Join us for this moving story about friendship, love, women’s rights, and worker’s rights. Recommended ages: 13+
