Meet the 2020 Business Award Nominees

The Board of Directors of the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce instituted Business Awards to honor member businesses. In general, nominees should be those whose primary business positively impacts the Elk River region and excels at conducting business professionally, ethically, and responsibly.

 

General Selection Process: Businesses are encouraged to nominate a business they believe is deserving of the award. Nominators must complete a questionnaire about why the business they are nominating should win the award. The selection committee has reviewed all nominations and the final selection has been made by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Businesses will be recognized at the Business Excellence Awards in the fall of 2020.


2020 Business of the Year  

This award will recognize the organization(s) that have been in business for at least five years. The award will feature businesses that have exhibited outstanding initiative, leadership, and organizational skills which produce significant results that benefit the community.  Such benefits may include excellence in customer service, conservation/energy smart practices, a track record of growth including local investment and support of community organizations. To receive the award, the business must be an Elk River Area Chamber member in good standing.

This award is aimed at companies that have been in business for less than five years and have demonstrated innovation, creativity and is on the path to outstanding success. To receive the award, the business must be an Elk River Area Chamber member in good standing.

Employer of the Year

The award will recognize the company that has created an outstanding workplace and has a committed, effective and motivated workforce as demonstrated by growth and/or strong retention. Please provide examples of workplace policies that set you apart and how they have benefited the business and its employees. Provide tangible examples of clear benefits for the selection committee to understand why your employees would agree you are the best employer. Nominations may be submitted by the employer or employees. Employee testimonials will be part of the selection process. To receive the award, the business must be an Elk River Area Chamber member in good standing.

  • volunteers through organizations within the area that work to improve the community
