Food donated by community members will be distributed to CAER Food Shelf. Elk River residents can simply leave their donation of non-perishable goods next to their mailbox before the delivery of the mail on Saturday\, May 11. Letter carriers will collect these food donations on that day as they deliver mail along their postal routes and distribute them to CAER Food Shelf. A few of the most needed items at CAER Food Shelf include cereal\, peanut butter\, rice\, juice boxes\, shelf stable juice\, soup\, condiments\, spices\, flour\, sugar\, oil\, and canned meat. Non-expired foods are appreciated.\n\n\n\nCAER hopes to receive 10\,000 pounds of food during the annual 'Stamp Out Hunger' drive to help the more than 600 households that receive food each month. If you miss your local letter carrier during ?Stamp Out Hunger? or live outside the Elk River community\, nonperishable food and/or monetary donations can be dropped off at CAER Food Shelf\, 12621 Elk Lake Road.\, Elk River from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday\, May 11.
