DESCRIPTION:WHAT:   Ruff Start Rescue Wellness Clinic\, in Partnership with St. Francis Veterinary Clinic\n\n \n\nAccording to a 2024 report\, pet owners say concerns about the cost of pet ownership are the top barrier to adoption with 84% of respondents saying veterinary care is the most expensive part of owning a pet. Furthermore\, owning a pet is less accessible to people who earn less than $75\,000 a year. The report goes on to show that those earning less than $75\,000 are more likely to surrender a pet due to financial difficulties.\n\nTo ease that burden\, Ruff Start Rescue has partnered with St. Francis Veterinary Clinic to offer its Wellness Clinic at their office in Princeton. "Our goal this year is to serve 160 dogs and 80 cats\, which is a 50% increase from last year\," said Azure Davis\, Founder and Executive Director of Ruff Start Rescue. \n\nThe Ruff Start Rescue Wellness Clinic is an opportunity for pet owners to get low-cost vaccines and services for their pet including:\n\n \n\nRabies                         $18\n\nHeartworm Test          $20\n\n4DX Test                      $38\n\nDistemper                   $16\n\nLyme                           $25\n\nBordetella                   $18\n\nLEPTO                          $18\n\nMicrochip                    $25\n\nNail Trim                     $10\n\nHeartworm preventatives will also be for sale at $15 to $20 per dose\, depending on weight. Monetary and pet supply donations will be collected during this time and are greatly appreciated\, but not required. Dogs must come on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.
