Come to hear about leadership from a fresh perspective.\n\n\n\n"Don't Fight the Whitewater: Leadership Lessons From Turbulent Times" \n\nGuest speaker Joan Schatz\, Chief Operating Officer of Park Industries\, shares leadership lessons learned during a whitewater rafting experience.\n\n\n\nThe Elk River Area Chamber's leadership class started training businesspeople to become community leaders in 1996. Since then over 300 participants have completed the requirements of the course and have gone on to use their new skills by running for public office\, serving on city commissions\, leading local non-profit groups\, volunteering on local boards of directors and becoming valuable leaders in their own companies."Encourage and celebrate the work of others who seek to do the same. In her current role as Co-Leader and Chief Operating Officer for Park Industries\, Joan is responsible for all operations of Park\, including Engineering\, Manufacturing\, Customer Training and Service\, Machine Installation\, Finance\, IT\, and Human Resources. Joan believes that for all of us our greatest learning and growth - both professionally and personally - occurs when work and life throw us a curve ball. She has a passion for providing leadership\, energy\, and direction for teams and organizations in transition and helping them   and the individuals within them   to emerge from challenges stronger\, wiser\, and more capable than ever before.
