DESCRIPTION:Community Connect is a one-day\, one-stop event that offers individuals and families in need access to resources and services in a safe\, friendly and fun environment. Representatives from local organizations will be available to assist attendees\, providing resources on: food access\, MNSure assistance\, senior services\, housing assistance\, childcare resources\, transportation\, veterans services\, mental health services\, homelessness resources\, employment support\, and county services. In addition to the resource tables local partners will be providing hair cuts\, flu shots\, massages\, diabetes testing\, Pre-K eye screenings\, and a catered lunch free of charge. There will also be supplies to take home including personal care items\, diapers and baby products\, household supplies\, meals and winter clothing. Children are welcome and there will be a separate youth area at the event complete with face painting\, fun activities and therapy animals to read with. Children's Dental Services will have a mobile dentistry clinic set up at the event for youth ages 0-26 and pregnant women. This service is offered by appointment only\, please call (612) 746-1530 to schedule a time. Medical Assistance is accepted.
